Back in
2007 I was working on a fairly large System Center Configuration Manager 2007
project (an upgrade from SMS2003 with 60 000 + clients) and a Windows 2000/Windows
XP to Windows Vista upgrade, The project last for 2 entire years before it’s completion
and I decide it to be my first and last ConfigMgr project for me at least in
the Enterprise market. However one thing we never got satisfied with was the
ability to install software updates during an operating system deployment (OSD)
while we were capturing our reference images (we actually did this daily during
the development phase) – the result was very inconsistent: Sometimes it did
work like a charm, other days we could have a few updates integrated other
none.
Microsoft has now finally released a hotfix to resolve this issue and at least
it works out for me J
